      <image:title>Our Students - William Tallant, 2021</image:title>
<image:caption>William attends Fordham University. He is majoring in Film and Television while minoring in Sports Journalism. After obtaining his degree, his ultimate career goal is to become a sportscaster. The inspiration of this career goal actually came when Will was in the 8th grade. He went to a small Catholic school from grades K-8. The 8th grade class was required to perform a Shakespeare play as part of their final English grade. His class was given Hamlet. Having no previous acting experience at all, Will was given the role of Prince Hamlet, one of Shakespeare’s most famous characters. This was definitely one his biggest obstacles to climb over before entering St. Joseph Regional and he would have never done it without the help of one of the production’s producers, Colleen Bennedetto. Colleen was a tremendous help when it came to truly understanding the script, shaking the nerves in front the audience, and handling all of the politics that came with having this role. Will stayed in touch with Colleen after his middle school days and when he was a sophomore at SJR, she wondered if he had ever considered pursuing a broadcasting career. Will didn’t make much of her question until he really sat down and said to himself, “This is something I could definitely do.” With his ability to articulate in front of crowds of people combined with his knowledge and passion for the game of baseball, nothing can, nor ever will, hold him back from accomplishing his broadcasting dream. During his time at St Joe’s Will participated in many clubs and activities that contributed to his career goal. He was a writer/editor for the Guardian Newspaper. writing all kinds of sports articles about Major League Baseball and articles about all of the sports at SJR. He was a reporter for the SJR Media Club. This entailed going to different school sporting events and giving live updates on the official SJR athletics Twitter page, @SJRAthletics1. He was a SJR Knights Ambassador. This club is what taught him the value of public speaking. Will would conduct many individual and group campus tours to prospective students throughout each school year during his time at St. Joe’s. Finally, he was a member of the baseball program at SJR for four years. In his senior season, the team had a record of 27-2 and achieved the triple crown, a very rare accomplishment. The team won their division, county, and state championships.</image:caption>
